Korea

Hi Guys! My name is Tabby

Currently I am a senior at the University of Arkansas, I am 22, an aspiring traveler, and a major food lover! I invite you to tag along with me on this new adventure since this is my first time making a blog, first time flying overseas by myself, and first time going to South Korea!

Korea Here We Go!

Through the University of Arkansas I have been able to participate in the Soonchunhyang University Exchange Program in South Korea! This blog will consist of information and tips to help people prepare for an overseas trip as well as photos, and blog posts about my experiences while in South Korea! I can't wait to share more about the culture, food, and more!

(this photo is from Google, I will be uploading my own once I arrive in South Korea)

Soonchunhyang University Is in the town of Asan, South Korea located about 54 miles (87 km) from the city of Seoul!

Through this specific program as international students we are able to participate in the Cultural Internship "scholarship" which allows us to (normally) be housed in the dorms (Global Village) with a Korean student who we'd then tutor each week in English. This "scholarship" would cover the dorm expenses, part of the flight cost (about $600 US), and for food most of the weeks (120,000 won each week which is about $110 in US.) Unfortunately, since Covid is still a large problem in the world they are not pairing us with Korean students in person and therefore have lost our weekly $ stipend for food.

Since, I will be arriving to the ICN airport during the pandemic #Covid I will be sent straight to the Global Village to quarantine for 2 weeks. In those two weeks I will be working on; my digital art, learning Korean, figuring out how not to go crazy being by myself for two weeks, and trying out dishes from the local restaurants that deliver! If you'd like to check out my digital art you can go to-
