Going Through Immigration in the South Korean Airport During a Pandemic

South Korean Immigration ✈Once my friend and I arrived at the ICN airport we were met with a variety of obstacles. First off since Covid is still a big thing we had to go through Covid paperwork screening and temperature checks. We had to wait for both American and Korean airports to double check that our tests were passable. If your test says "nucleic acid" & has a little number code at the bottom, it is an official PCR test without specifically saying PCR. This is what I have been told by my Dr. and by several airport officials. I was then separated from my friend because her temperature was a little high from us wearing multiple layers and running to this section of the airport. We hadn't expected Korea to be so warm this time of year. I was then told to proceed to the right to immigration/baggage claim located to the left. ✈The first desk for immigration required us to have downloaded the Self Quarantine Safety Protection App (make sure to have a Korean conta...

Packing as a Female for South Korea; Feminine Products and Clothing

Preparation; Packing Fem Edition! Blog Post Four! For Women, Korea Here We Go!   Feminine Products   Keep in mind that pads are everywhere and in most local stores. The brands will differ (mostly) from your home countries brands so make sure to watch some Youtube videos on preferred feminine products in Korea. Once I get to Korea I will make a post about my preferences. I heard that in bigger stores in Korea they even have a section where you can see individual pads and someone there will help you figure out what is best for you and your body.  If you mainly use tampons I'd recommend bringing them from home since they are not as widely available in Korea and they tend to be more expensive. If you'd like an alternative to pads and tampons I suggest bringing a June/Diva Cup (The June cup is $6) or Soft discs (they run about 12 to an $11 box.) Remember you can keep these items in 12 hours at a time. Keep in mind that if you bring a June/Diva cup to make sure you have a...

International Flight Tips, Luggage Recommendations, and Airlines

Preparation! Blog Post Three! Phew! Korea Here WE Go! Airline Tips- Before searching for rates on flights I'd recommend creating a google excel sheet in order to keep track of all the information that you'll will be compiling!  Tips for International flying: 1. Get a roundtrip ticket 2.Buy your trip as one ticket, don't buy separate tickets. By buying tickets separately for every leg of your trip you lose the security of the airline taking care of your flights if one gets cancelled.  3. Buy directly from the airline for more protection. 4. Get a refundable or "flexible" ticket. 5. Most International flights allow you to bring two checked bags, a carry on and a personal item. Even though I'd like to bring along more bags I opted for one checked bag instead of two= less hassle. Remember you can always buy items you need at the local stores in your area. If you are going for a short trip that's only a couple weeks then I don't see much harm in packing...
